There's English irritation at Scots independence aspirations. Yet we mustn't leave ourselves exposed to danger down the line.
Remember that for around two hundred and fifty years Scotland and France persisted in their Auld Alliance which had a significant adverse impact on England between 1295 and 1560. After the Treaty of Edinburgh an accord between the English and Scots put an end to the Franco-Scottish pact and paved the way towards Union in Britain.
For hundreds of years Scotsmen had guarded French kings. And the French were bolstered by their friendship with Scotland to our detriment.
It would be counter-productive, in my view, to encourage Scottish independence. We need unity on this island to protect our defences and to add clout to our economic and diplomatic prowess.
It might appear right now to be prudent to seek English control over English legislation, but it's not likely we'll benefit much from encouraging the Scots to leave the Union if in future years that action bites us on the bum.
It is the right for Scottish to choose if they want to be independent from Britain. For hundreds of year, the British have a principal of isolation, therefore let them become isolated and leave Scotland to be its own conntry and not part of Britain. Is there any benefit for Britain to continue keeping Scotland as part of Britain.
